My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.”

Proverbs 2:1-5

I am the bread of life...
whoever comes to me I will never drive away.”

Jesus, from John 6

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him."

advent is a Christian celebration stretching over the four Sundays leading up to Christmas, the birth of Jesus. People often use an advent wreath composed of four or five candles which are lit to symbolize each Sunday, with the fifth candle being lit on Christmas eve or Christmas day itself. Families can use this time to prepare themselves spiritually by reading Scripture and focusing their thoughts on the coming to earth of God’s Messiah.
