Psalm 104:1-4
Praise the Lord, O my soul.
O Lord my God, you are very great;
you are clothed with splendor and majesty.
He wraps himself in light as with a garment;
he stretches out the heavens like a tent
and lays the beams of his upper
chamber on their waters.
He makes the clouds his chariot
and rides on the wings of the wind.
He makes winds his messengers,
flames of fire his servants.

Worship is more than an event, more than the songs we sing, and more than the latest trend in Christian pop culture. Worship is life, a life that is totally devoted to God. Paul wrote in Romans 12:1 “In view of Godís mercy offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.” I consider it an honor to lead others in worship, declaring the greatness and goodness of God, praising Him for who He is and all He has done. This is a beautiful act of worship, but not the whole of worship. The things we sing and say must be in agreement with whom we are, a natural outpouring from our lives. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees with words from the book of Isaiah. “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain.” My desire in ministry is to exalt the Lord Jesus, to lead others in acts of authentic worship, and to instill this priceless truth: worship is life.
