"What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?" (Matt 16:26)
Prelude: Jesus and the children (Mark 10:13-16)
1. The classic question (17-22)
1. If you died tonight, and God asked you why He should allow you into heaven, what would you say?
2. The Bible does not teach that money is bad, nor that wealthy people are unspiritual. But money, or anything else that attracts us, has the potential to become an "idol", that is, something that pushes God out of the picture. Is there something in your life (even a good thing) that is slowly becoming more important than it should be? How hard would it be for you to give it up?
2. The dark side of success (23-27)
3. The riches of the Kingdom (28-31)
