Spiritual Gifts are God-given abilities which the Holy Spirit gives to each new follower of Jesus Christ to be used for the common good of the body of Christ and those living within our broken community.

And He (Christ) gave some as

Apostles
Prophets
Evangelists
Pastor/Teacher
for the equipping of the saints
to the work of service
to the building up of the body of Christ

Until we all attain

to the unity of the faith
(to) the knowledge of the Son of God
to a mature man
