| What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, You are slaves to the one whom you obey -- whether you are saves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which lead to righteousness? |
Question:
Now that I've become a Christian, how will my life be different? What will produce change? Won't I simply continue as before, except that now I'm forgiven?
Paul's answer:
1. (Rom. 6:1-14) - You can't live any longer the way you used to live, because you're not the same person you used to be. The old “you” died, the new “you” is a child of God, with a new nature, and the Spirit indwelling.
2. (Rom. 6:15-23) - You're free now every day to choose to offer yourself to One who loves you and gives you life, or one who enslaves you and is out to destroy you.
Jesus said “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free...I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.”
John 8
Jesus said... “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in your heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11
