These are the words of Him who is holy and true, Who holds the Key of David. What He opens no one can shut, and What He shuts no one can open. - (Revelation 3:7 NIV)

Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things in the past. Behold I will do something new. Now it will spring forth; Will you be not aware of it? - (Isaiah 43:18-19 NAS)

Ask and it shall be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and it will be opened to you. - (Jesus - Matthew 7:7 NAS)

And when they (Paul and Barnabas) had arrived (In the City of Anitoch) and gathered the church together, they began to report all things that God had done with them (on their first missionary journey through central Turkey) and how He had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles. - (Luke - Acts 14:27 NAS)

...I shall remain in Ephesus until Pentecost; for a wide door for effective service has opened to me, and there are many adversaries. - (Paul - 1 Corinthians 16:8-9 NAS)

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God may open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ... - (Paul - Colossians 4:2-3 NAS)

The Church of Philadelphia -- "Open Doors!"
Revelation 3:7-13
7...the angel of the church in Philadelphia write...
These are the words him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open.
1. A Word of Encouragement: 8I know your ddeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars -- I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowlege that I have loved you.
2. A Promise: 10Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.
3. A Word of Exhortation: 11I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
4. More Promises: 12Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him a new name. 13He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.(NIV)

Some Questions to Consider

1. Are you aware of the many open doors the Lord has placed in front of you? What kind of open doors are they? How many are you willing to walk through?
2. Do you believe you are able by the power of the Holy Spirit to show a "patient endurance" during times of trials and temptations? Explain how this "patient endurance" has been or is being experienced today.
3. Do you really believe in your heart of hearts that Jesus is coming soon? Explain how your answer affects your current lifestyle.
4. Would you be a person that Jesus would call "an overcomer?" Explain!
