1. Evaluate our self-confidence - Luke 5:1-7

Jesus: "...let down the nets for a catch."

Peter: "Master, we have worked hard all night and...nothing!"

"But because you say so, I will let down the nets"

nets began to break

Spiritual Principle: "...those who are in the flesh (self-confidence) cannot please God." (Romans 8:8)

2. Become Christ-confident - Luke 5:8-11

Peter: "Go away from me, Lord, I am a sinful man!"

Abraham: "...I am but dust and ashes" (Gen. 18:27)
Job: "...I repent in dust and ashes" (Job 42:5-7)
Isaiah: "...Woe is me for I am ruined..." (Isa. 6:5)
John: "I fell at His feet as a dead man" (Rev. 1:17)

Jesus: "Don’t be afraid, from now on you will catch men.

Spiritual Principle: "I can do everything through him (Christ-confident) who gives me strength." (Phil. 4:13)
