Abraham ... Jacob ... Moses ... David ... Hannah ... Daniel ... Job ... These were real people, with real emotions, real pressures, real hopes and fears. They all had to come to grips with how to relate to God in the midst of trying times, just like you and I do. Their examples in the Bible address the questions of our own hearts with honesty and practicality. If I speak, will He hear? Will He let me in on His plans? Do I really need his help, or am I better off going it alone? Can I actually think of the awesome Creator of the Universe as my personal friend? If I'm on His side, why do I suffer? Does he care about my unfulfilled desires?
