Jesus said to his family and friends in his home town:
God's Sprit is on me;
He's chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor,
Sent me to announce pardon to the prisoners...
Recovery of sight to the blind,
To set the burdened and the battered free,
To announce, “This is God's year to act!”
The Good News of Jesus Christ was written by one of his disciples named Dr. Luke (58-60 AD). Luke wrote his Gospel of Jesus like a jeweler who would design a precious string of fine pearls: The string is found in the words of Jesus, “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Luke 5:32). And, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” (Luke 19:10): Then Luke placed each story of the ministry of Jesus on that string as a precious pearl which could lead a broken and hurting person like you and me to find the wonderful gift of salvation in Him.
This series covers the life and ministry of Jesus Christ from Luke 4:1-6:11.
