| To become a witness for Jesus Christ the Son of God, would mean that we have first entered into a personal relationship with Him as our risen Lord and Savior. The evidences of that relationship would become clear as others around us listen to our words about Him and observe our good deeds accomplished by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are to speak of His incarnation, humanity, ministry, death, burial, resurrection and glorification. We are to speak of the salvation that He is willing to offer to a broken humanity. In this context I have chosen a number of stories from the history of the early church to encourage all of us who are still living in the " loge of the Spirit" to speak of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit. These stories are examples of the joy, thrill, excitement, adventure, sorrow and pain that normal, authentic, everyday Christ-followers of the early church experienced and how they can become our experience if we choose to obey our risen Lord's instructions to speak of Him, locally, nationally and internationally until He comes again. |
